Tex Murphy: Overseer - Session 2

A dame walked into my office; her daddy was dead, and she wants to know whodunnit. The police say it's a suicide, but she doesn't buy that. So I started digging. I find out the guy was seeing the lawyer who wrote his will; his daughter is the beneficiary of his life insurance, though she won't see a dime if he did himself in. There's a few people close to him who stood to benefit from his demise, but there were some other pieces that weren't quite adding up...his recent surgery, the mysterious medicine he was taking, the repeated chess allusions, and the name "Overseer" kept popping up. Something big was going on, and this guy was in deep. An old PI who'd been working with him warned me off of this, but I'm not stopping before I see where this rabbit hole leads.

Thursday Throne - Lumino City - Session 1.5

Last week, after completing Lume, we went searching for our disappeared grandfather in Lumino City. We encountered many colorful characters and solved several puzzles while traversing the town, until we found our way to some kind of washing machine/Ferris wheel. Iiii'm not sure what's up with it.

Valkyria Chronicles - Session 2

After a successful attack on an enemy fortification in the city of Vasel, we were accosted by a reporter (who behaves more like she's at a high-society function than a battlefield) eager to get an interview with the son of the great general. Still, the war rages ever on.

Tex Murphy: Overseer - FINALLY?!

It's been a long time since we (successfully) played a Tex Murphy game on the stream. If you've been with us for that long, you may recall that this game gave us no end of technical difficulties. We simply could not progress for all the freezing that was happening (much like with Assassin's Creed now), and there were so many cases of the stream video just failing to match up with the game for no discernable reason. But those days seem to be over — I ran a test stream a while back for a full hour, and had zero issues.

So tonight, join Tex for his big date with Chelsee, as he recounts the events of his first big case. Tex Murphy: Overseer begins tonight at 9pm ET.

Thursday Throne - Lume & Lumino City

I wonder if Grandad's in.

He did invite me round, but it seems unusually quiet and dark.

On a visit to your grandfather's house, you find him out, dealing with an issue that seems to have come up. He has left you some puzzles that will help resolve things, and hopefully keep you entertained until his return.

Lume is a charming, but very short, puzzle adventure game in which all the environments are real, model sets, filmed and photographed. Its sequel, Lumino City, picks up where Lume left off, with the same captivating aesthetic.

I imagine I'll be able to complete Lume fairly quickly, having played it before (though I've probably forgotten some); Lumino City is entirely new to me, though, so I'm very much looking forward to experiencing it for the first time!

Valkyria Chronicles - Session 1

Thanks, fish.

Valkyria Chronicles is a game about fantasy-Europe ca. World War II. That and the fact that it's a TRPG, and you've got pretty much my entire knowledge of the game.

John, however, is familiar, and is quite good at this sort of game. So expect some efficient dispatching of enemy forces and a whole lot of animu.

Thursday Throne - Contrast - Session 1.5?

"Mommy, is Daddy ever coming back?"

I attempted Assassin's Creed again last week...that didn't last long. It froze in pretty short order. So I tried starting Hyper Light Drifter...didn't really like it. Finally, I started Contrast, and it was juuuuuust right. I'm gonna be sticking with it for a while.

In Contrast, you are the imaginary friend of a little girl named Didi, who has a habit of sneaking out at night, whose mother is a cabaret singer, and whose father has a knack for getting in way over his head. The streets at night are a world of light and shadow...and mysterious abysses.

Final Fantasy II - What's the opposite of spelunking?

Last time, we got eaten by Leviathan, found Richard in its belly (along with an entire village of others), escaped, and began climbing Ultima Tower. Unfortunately, we did not reach its summit before the end of the session. So tonight, the quest for Ultima continues!
