Stone of Graves - Alien: Isolation - Session 5
I'M BACK!
I thought I posted to explain my absence, but I guess not, whoops. My video card died! And as old as the rest of the machine was, there wasn't much point in putting a brand new card in it, so I built a whole new computer. The first delay was actually finding a video card for a reasonable price. Once I managed that, I planned on reusing the same case for the new system...but the video card was too long to fit. So TJ sent me an extra case they had, so I had to wait for that to arrive. And then came the usual struggles of assembling the machine, making sure everything is working, that whole new computer ordeal—which, for a few reasons, wasn't quick. Chief among those reasons was that my old-but-nice monitor, which is dual-link DVI only, had to use an adapter to connect to the video card, which only has HDMI and DisplayPort...and the adapter turned out to be insufficient for the task. Either I was getting all kinds of visual glitches, or I was getting 640x480. An adapter that actually would have worked woulda been hella-expensive...so I ordered a new monitor. That arrived today. The cables it came with aren't long enough.
At least everything works fine with the TV.
I forget exactly what I got up to last time in this game, having been out for about a month. I remember wrecking the xenomorph nest, discovering Weyland-Yutani had purchased the station because it had become infested...I forget the order of events, or how much may have happened after that. I'm sure it'll come back to me.
