Thursday Throne - FEZ - Session 2

I found a lot of things last time! Almost enough to get me through that last door there, which is half the number the little tesseract guy said I needed to repair everything. Does that mean I'm nearly halfway through? Ahahaha...we'll see.

Thursday Throne - FEZ

Dear Gomez,

Please meet me at top of village. I have something very important to tell you.

Today is special day.

- Geezer

FEZ hardly needs an introduction, right? But for the uninitiated: it's a 2D(ish) platformer about changing perspective, where you can rotate the world in 3D to traverse terrain and solve puzzles. It's a game I've been meaning to play for a long time, but definitely with a copilot to help prevent me getting completely lost.

FEZ begins tonight at 9pm ET!

There is intrigue in the afterlife! Arum may be the wildcard that foils the administrator's plans...

An Early Grave - 8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure - Session 2

We finished Torin's Passage early last time, so we went ahead and started this cute and spooky Metroidvania. It's based on Korean stories about the afterlife, and features a lot of hand-drawn artwork. Liking it so far!

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap - Session 2

Had a lot of fun with this one last week! At least until I got too tired to stay coordinated. Old-fashioned platforming can be trouble.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

Before you is the Monster Land. Your target is the dreaded dragon's room. But unbeknownst to you is the fact that the dragon has the power to curse his enemies.

I wasn't a Sega kid, so I've never played any of the Wonder Boy games before, but I know they have a reputation for being excellent 2D platformer/explorers. And this remake of Wonder Boy III looks absolutely gorgeous with all its hand-drawn assets. I'm excited to play it!

I've been meaning to play this series for a long time now. WayForward makes solid games with stellar sprite animation, and these certainly seem to be no different.

Holding Court - A Boy and His Blob - Session 5

Man, the stages in world 4 are really long. Only made it about halfway through last time. Wasn't helped by the fact that I managed to crash the game just before the end of one.

Is my sleep schedule fixed? We'll see. But at least for today, I'm on to world 4, which looks like the final area, but I could be wrong.

Holding Court - A Boy and His Blob - Session 2

Alright, save for one spot where I made things harder for myself than I had to, things went pretty smoothly last time! Beat the first boss, reached world 2, excited for what lies ahead.

Also, Lord Bob Bree pointed out that I went from one slime right into another—that didn't even occur to me! Had a laugh at that observation.

Oh. My. Glob.

I uh, don't really know what to say to introduce this game. I'm going in more blind than usual. The aesthetic is cute, and I know it's based on a classic.
