We embark on our quest again this week as we return to King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow!
Washed ashore, Alexander wandered about to find his bearings. Soon, he learned he had landed at the very place he aimed for -- the Land of the Green Isles. He made for the castle, and met with Vizier Alhazred, who informed him that Cassima was sequestered in mourning for her parents, the late king and queen, who had passed on during her imprisonment, and that he would be marrying her soon. Heartbroken, but determined to make the most of his trip, Alexander resolved to take in the Isles' sights, in spite of warnings that the other islands were less than hospitable of late, and that there was no means of travel between them, anyway, the only ferry having been out of service for some time.
We gained a magic map for travel, fooled the guards of the Isle of Wonder and resolved a dispute between its queens, solved the Cliffs of Logic and defeated the Minotaur in the labyrinth on the Isle of the Sacred Mountain, uncovered the Isle of Mist, and in our travels, learned of the nature of the dispute between the islands: each has lost an item of great import, and believes another island's rulers are to blame. Our repeated run-ins with a teleporting, shape-shifting genie give us a good idea of what's actually happened, though a solution has not yet become apparent...
