Okay, so it looks like the stuff I read was incorrect. I was not able to carry over the save. Thankfully, I hadn't gotten very far in the game yet, so there's not a lot of ground to retread; I'm already doing a lot better at it, too! Noticing spots that use abilities I didn't know I had when I came across them before, stuff like that. But I haven't quite caught up to where I was before.
