I was not expecting proper cutscenes in an NES game.
Lagrange Point continues at 3pm ET!
Well, the first session was awfully short; I apologize for that. I think I'm better rested today; shouldn't be hit by a severe nap attack an hour in.
Lagrange Point continues at 3pm ET!
There was a major update that made saves incompatible. I tried to load mine anyway, and it mostly worked? It's still unclear whether the changes will completely halt development. I'll give it another try this week.
Timberborn continues in just a few!
In the 22nd century, humanity built a new home among the stars at the Lagrange Point. The colonies Land 1, Land 2, and Satellite Base... The Isis Cluster. However, in I.Y. 24, a biological catastrophe occurred on Land 2. Communication went dark.
This game is a rarity on the system in that it makes use of the Famicom's FM synthesis channels, coming equipped with a Yamaha VRC7 chip onboard. It doesn't sound like anything else in its generation. Neither is it a story common to its genre, being straight science-fiction.
Despite the release date of the translation patch, this script is one of Tomato's earliest, and apparently it shows. Even the most skilled translators had to start somewhere, though, right? I'm still excited to play.
Lagrange Point begins at 3pm ET!
Sure, let's give this another week.
Loop Hero begins tonight at 9pm ET!
Travel fail, I'm not going anywhere this week after all. So this'll probably be the conclusion, unless the final mission is really long.
Shadowrun Hong Kong continues at 3pm ET!
My sleep schedule got shifted for about a week, but I'm back on track today, at least. Cleaning up sidequests before embarking on the final mission.
Shadowrun Hong Kong continues at 3pm ET!
There are many stories in our past...many interesting, but most untrue. And though they may be forgotten one day, there will always be others to rise from the void—stories of wandering heroes, stories of terrible battles in strange lands, both glorious victories and bitter defeats.
This is a last-minute choice for me. I was thinking I wanted a one-off, but this could be more than that. We shall see.
Loop Hero begins tonight at 9pm ET!
Now that all of its resources have been tapped dry, renovations are underway in Corner Heights to give them new purpose. Meanwhile, a bridge to carry power from a third peak in Downstream is finished, and will soon be contributing to the grid.
Timberborn continues tonight at 9pm ET!
I nearly had to cancel tonight's stream cuz my PC wouldn't turn on again. I wish I knew why it suddenly started working, but I'm glad it did.
Wonder Project J continues tonight at 9pm ET!
I bit the bullet and installed Windows 11...let's hope that didn't honk up my audio settings too badly.
Shadowrun Hong Kong continues at 3pm ET!
I need to get over this cold so I can be not vocally impaired.
Shadowrun Hong Kong continues at 3pm ET!
Robot uprising? I don't know what you're talking about, they're just autonomous machines, and I just make them work the most dangerous jobs.
Timberborn continues tonight at 9pm ET!
Accidentally got forced into a "guns blazing" strategy — setting overwatch feels so overpowered when you've got good chokepoints, though. But what we lacked in subtlety, we made up in shadowrunner diplomacy.
Shadowrun Hong Kong continues at 3pm ET!
I'm know I got further than this when I played it previously, but I really don't remember anything that's happened so far.
Wonder Project J continues tonight at 9pm ET!
Well, things ended in the Whampoa messier than I'd hoped. I feel like I picked the right side, though. But despite that ending, we now have several jobs lined up, and a number of new allies. Where shall I begin today?
Shadowrun Hong Kong returns at 3pm ET!
It's been more than a year since I've touched this. I remember it started with a call for help from my character's father figure, and meeting his adoptive brother in Hong Kong to find their dad. Then things went south quickly, with the local law mistaking us for terrorists and being hunted, and falling in with a group of runners to stay safe while we continued our search. We rooted around in Kowloon to help our new boss keep her subordinates in line, and then we went off to investigate some deaths in a tech cult. That's about all I remember. I don't think there was time for much else, really.
Shadowrun Hong Kong returns at 3pm ET! Hopefully I've still got the character voices in my head after this long.
