Running a little late, so I don't have time for as much of a blurb here as usual.

This is the sequel to a game we played many years ago! That one began with a modern/near-future world and a fantasy world beginning to bleed into each other, and ended with the barrier between the two coming down entirely, ushering in a new age. This one is, presumably, sometime later. Have things normalized? Are magic and technology coexisting and coevolving? Let's find out!

This adventure to recover the tetrads has taken Mike across the world and through history. We paused last week at a Transylvanian castle full of creepy creatures, which were posing a bit of a challenge for my increasingly sleepy self.

A short time ago, Mike went on an incredible journey. It began as a vacation to the South Seas, and it became a big adventure. Mike managed to save his uncle and seven space children from evil aliens.

A few months have passed. Mike is now in school and everything seems to be back to normal...

We beat the first game last week, but the story's not over yet!

Dear Mike,

I am sorry I did not write you sooner, but I just returned from a long voyage in the islands in search of lost ruins and artifacts. I was very pleased to find your letter upon my return. Boy, time sure is flying by! Last time I saw you, you were just starting school... and now, 15 years old, an honor student, and captain of your high school baseball team!

I think it's a great idea that you visit me during your vacation. I'm sure that you'll enjoy the tropical islands, the blue water, and the friendly people you'll find living under the Southern Cross. You can even take a cruise in my super submarine, Sub-C.

I have enclosed some pictures and a map of C-Island for you. Hope to see you soon, and give my regards to your family.

Holding Court - Darksiders II - Session 17

Okay, so I wasn't mistaken—I did beat this game yesterday. About 20 minutes after the stream began. But then, after the credits, I remembered the "Additional Campaigns," and continued into those. I finished Argul's Tomb, and decided that was a good point to call it a day. I think there's two more campaigns in there; wonder if I can clear 'em both today.

Okay, so maybe the "world-sized dungeon" assessment wasn't quite right, but things are sure getting bigger. Defeated the arena's champion, which is supposed to earn me an audience with the king guy...let's see if the chancellor keeps up his end of the bargain.

I reached the Tree of Life, and across it traversed to the realm of the Dead. I've not fully explored it yet, but so far, it feels like a world-sized dungeon, which is kiiiinda cool. I'm sure it'll leave me feeling lost eventually, but right now, finding puzzles spread over such a wide area is pretty neat.

Hey, I'm actually awake at a reasonable hour today, so Holding Court returns! I'm glad this game gives a little recap at the start of each session, cuz I'm gonna need it.

Unrelatedly, last night saw some technical difficulties, forcing me to postpone what I'd been planning. I'll get into more details next Thursday, but suffice it to say, yesterday's blog post became very inaccurate.
